Details
Sprinkle pots like this were a vital household tool within medieval households.  The holes in the base allow an even distribution of water to flow, and this flow can be easily controlled using the thumb hole at the top of the pot.  Removing your thumb from the hole allows the water to flow, and applying your thumb to make the water stop.  There were numerous uses for this lovely little object, including watering seedlings and wetting the floor prior to sweeping, and we use ours to add small qualities of water to our clay when kneading it.

Production

As with all my Museum Quality Replicas, I try to work in a way that is as close as possible  to the methods used by the ancient craftsmen and women who created the original.
